Okay, Let's Get Reaquainted

In case you've noticed, it's been some time since I last blogged. If you haven't noticed, let's just pretend I've been here all along. You'd think this time away would have afforded me the opportunity to contemplate life, take up scrap booking, or form a new love commune. However, I would be amiss if I led you to believe I used this time for something noble. No, I simply replaced a blogging addiction with other social networking addictions. (The first step is admitting you have a problem, you know.)

It's not what I intended when taking a break from blogging, but the day I decided to take some time off was almost exactly the day I received a seemingly innocent and kind invitation to join something called Facebook. Who knew this one email would thwart my contemplation, scrap booking, and love-commune plans!

So here I am, a recovering social networking addict, looking to get back to a bit more writing. I do believe that I would go completely insane if I had to keep limiting my communication to 140 characters (Damn Twitter!) or continue to get poked by my "friends" (Damn Facebook!). Granted, I've reconnected with some great friends from the past and love having a place where I can easily post photos and quippy little updates. And I'm not complaining that I see Ricky Martin's tweets on a daily basis (was that too much information?). But it's time to come home, as they say.

I'm looking forward to being back. I can't promise I'm going to blog every day or participate in all of the memes, but I am going to try to write a little more often and will occasionally stop by to comment. I have been reading many of your blogs on Google Reader, but they haven't made it easy to comment yet through that. Now please excuse me, there are some people at my door who I have to interview for that new love commune. Peace, love, and blog on!

Lordy, Lordy, look who's back! Welcome back, Steven? Here to stay this time? Hmmmm?

Yes, just in time to see that you are taking a hiatus. It's probably better. I don't think the blogosphere can handle both of us at once! Hope all is well!

Yaaaay!
Welcome back!

Is it really you, or did the mafia send someone to steal your identity?

I'll have to ask some music questions to be sure...

1. In the key of X-sharp, what is four times nine, minus the square of eight saxophones?

2. Explain 20th century atonal music without using any swear words.

3. Which of the following instruments does Janna NOT play?
... a) hammered dulcimer
... b) french horn
... c) empty Pringles cans
... d) harp
... e) oboe
... f) migraine maracas: (bottle of Excedrin gently shaken to see how many are left inside)
... g) keyboard
... h) the whooshing sound of shame and humiliation when I realize I have just wasted two hours playing Yahtzee on the Internet.

Steven is that you? I really thought you had quit blogging. It's good to see a post after all this time.

I would love to hear more about the love commune too. Bwahahahahaha. My mind is always in the gutter.

Have a terrific day and welcome back. :)

Janna: 1) One slightly-bent tuba, 2) Phillip Glass, 3) Trick question, you play all of those, girlfriend!

Sandee: I'm working my way back to you, girl. Wait, is that a song?
